ABOUT BIRTH HYPNOSIS
Hypnosis is simply a natural state of mind in which the body and mind are extremely relaxed and yet the mind is also highly aware and focused. Hypnosis is a very normal state of being in that along with it’s ability to provide emotional and physical healing, it has been widely and successfully used within the medical community for pain relief and hypno-anesthesia.
You are always in control of your mind and your body while in hypnosis. You choose to enter hypnosis, stay in hypnosis, accept the suggestions, and emerge from hypnosis at all times. Hypnosis is a state of relaxation in which you're in total control and can accept or reject any suggestions you hear. Hypnosis is not being controlled by someone else, a loss of self control, a state of unconsciousness, or a state of sleep.
Clinical hypnosis for medical purposes is used to slow pulse and respiration rates, lower blood pressure, and lessen or eliminate pain entirely. Doctors and dentists use this type of hypnotic conditioning with their patients to create “hypno-anesthesia” for their patients who are allergic to medical anesthesia. These doctors and dentists perform surgeries with no medical anesthesia, with no pain and no side-effects.
Childbirth Hypnosis teaches the same hypnotic techniques to expectant mothers, allowing them to experience their contractions as “pressure sensations” or as ‘”tight squeezing sensations”, greatly minimizing or eliminating labor discomfort.
Birth hypnosis training is easy to learn, practice and use in childbirth. Expectant mothers can use it to safely prepare for a comfortable natural birth.
