There is power that comes to women when they give birth. They don’t ask for it, it simply invades them. Accumulates like clouds on the horizon and passes through, carrying the child with it.

Congratulations on your growing family!  Having a baby is an exciting  life-altering event. It is an experience you will remember for the rest of your life. Staying calm  and feeling safe and supported are essential ingredients to having the kind of birth that you want. As your doula it is my honor to be your companion on this journey;  to support you and your family emotionally and physically while providing information so that you can have the birth that you plan for , either at home or in a hospital.

When a doula is present during and after childbirth, women report greater satisfaction with their birth experiences, make more positive assessments of their babies, have fewer cesareans and fewer requests for medical intervention, and less postpartum depression. Studies have shown that babies born with doulas present tend to have shorter hospital stays with fewer admissions to special care nurseries, breastfeed more easily and are more affectionate mothers in the postpartum period.
